Karen Read case investigator Proctor suspended without pay

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A board of three commissioned officers of the Massachusetts State Police recommended that Trooper Michael Proctor, the lead investigator in the Karen Read murder case, be suspended without pay Monday.

Proctor was previously relieved of duty following the Read mistrial.

The board’s recommendation was accepted by Colonel John E. Mawn, Jr. making it effective immediately.

An investigation by Massachusetts State Police internal affairs will continue in this case.
