Head-on collision leaves man dead in Wareham

WAREHAM, Mass. (WLNE) – A head-on collision Monday afternoon left a man dead in Wareham.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office reported that 38-year-old Matthew Goodchild of Wareham was killed in the crash.

Officials said Goodchild’s SUV and a pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old woman collided head-on on Minot Avenue around 1:08 p.m.

Goodchild was taken to Tobey Hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash, according to the authorities.

The woman was taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials said the crash will be investigated further by Massachusetts State Police and the Wareham Police Department.
