Woonsocket officials announce arrest of hit-and-run suspect

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials have announced that the suspect accused of intentionally hitting a Woonsocket man with his car last week has been arrested.
37-year-old Andrew Michael Martin was arrested last night on Assault to Commit Murder, Felony Assault and Battery, Driving to Endanger Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Driving with a Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled License.
Woonsocket officials said Martin allegedly hit 31-year-old Michael Lefebvre due to an ongoing conflict stemming from a relationship back on July 1.
Martin then fled the scene, and a warrant was issued for his arrest two days later.
Lefebvre would later die at Rhode Island Hospital from his injuries.
Martin will be arraigned on the charges in 6th District Superior Court this morning.
Woonsocket Police thanked Pawtucket officials for assisting in the arrest.
