Warwick dedicates street to Civil War general

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Frank Picozzi said that the City of Warwick held a ceremony Saturday for the naming of George Sears Greene Way.

Greene was a Union general from the city during the Civil War and fought in battles including those at Antietam and Gettysburg.

Picozzi said that the Warwick Historical Cemetery Committee and Pegee Malcolm were instrumental in the naming of the street and the ceremony.
