Scorching heat through Wednesday

It was a another hot day today and the dewpoint temperatures came back up into the tropical range of the low and mid 70s. As a result, A HEAT ADVISORY remains in effect through Wednesday evening with heat index (how hot it feels) temperatures of 95-104°. Tuesday will be the peak of the hot air temperatures that’ll reach the mid 90s and then scale back a bit for Wednesday. Keep an eye to the sky for the potential development of late afternoon or evening thunderstorms that can bring brief torrential downpours if you are caught under them.

Since the risk of heat-related illness is high, and even greater for the elderly and children, you are advised to seek air-conditioned relief, stay hydrated and don’t forget your pets. The heat breaks with a slow moving cold front coming through late Wednesday night and Thursday morning with showers and thunderstorms. After the cold front clears, temperatures and humidity levels become seasonable and much more pleasant for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
