Woonsocket reviewing human services information wrongfully made public

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Woonsocket City Solicitor Michael Lepizzera, Jr. said his office will be reviewing confidential information accidentally posted on the city website.

Lepizzera said that a a comprehensive report authored by the city’s director of human services was wrongfully posted alongside a City Council agenda on July 15.

The report included personal and private information not meant to be made public.

Lepizzera said that the city removed the report as soon as it was made aware of the posting, and the mayor has asked the law department to notify those whose information was posted, and that the solicitor’s office is reviewing the information as well.

“The city apologizes for this inadvertent disclosure,” Lepizzera added. “The city’s law department will be available to address any individual requests or inquiries from persons who may have been affected by the innocent publication of the private city report.”
