PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island unionized hotel workers are expected to rally at the Omni Providence Hotel today.

According to a release, their contracts are set to expire this year.

The rally stems from the workers’ constant requests for “real raises and safe workloads,” states the release further.

The economy is not working for them, the release continues, and their current wages are not enough to cover the rising cost of housing, groceries, and childcare.

The rally will start at 4:30 p.m.

The last rally was back in May of this year.
