Mass General Brigham cancels all ‘non-urgent’ surgeries and procedures due to outage

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — WCVB has reported that all elective and non-emergent surgeries and procedures at Mass General Brigham sites are canceled for Friday due to the global internet outage.
The outage has impacted all Microsoft distributed flights, banks, and companies across the world.
In a statement, reported by WCVB, the hospital said:
“A major worldwide software outage has affected many of our systems at Mass General Brigham, as well as many major businesses across the country. Due to the severity of this issue, all previously scheduled non-urgent surgeries, procedures and medical visits are cancelled (Friday).”
