BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Steward Health Care will give an update on their sale process today.

Steward Health Care filed for bankruptcy back in May, and has since been under investigation for fraud and corruption.

On Thursday, WCVB reported that Steward Health Care has pushed back the bidding deadline for its hospitals.

U.S. Sen. Ed Markey called for an explanation from the company’s CEO, announcing a plan Thursday for a vote to subpoena Steward’s CEO Ralph de la Torre.

Markey said the CEO has been asked to testify before and he declined.

The meeting of the creditors will be held at 2 p.m. Eastern time, and can be listened to telephonically at 1-866-707-5468, Code: 6166997.

The Debtors’ representative for Steward Health Care must attend the meeting to be questioned under oath.

Steward owns two hospitals in Bristol County.
