North Providence Police investigating child drowning

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A four-year-old male child drowned in a pool on Tuesday afternoon local police said.

The North Providence Police Department said they responded to reports of a child who was pulled from a pool who had been underwater for an undetermined amount of time at 3:15 p.m. at Cassisi Court.

Upon arrival, the child was found unresponsive and CPR was attempted the police said.

The child was transported to the Hasbro Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say an investigation is underway.
