CNA worker accused of sexually assaulting woman in Warren nursing home

WARREN, R.I. (WLNE) — A man from Greenville was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a resident at Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren while employed there.
32-year-old Erick Sajche Meza was charged with second-degree sexual assault after a 76-year-old woman told staff that an employee had touched her inappropriately.
When police arrived on scene on July 4, police met with a social worker who told them the woman identified the employee by the ID card he was wearing.
The victim further stated that the defendant had entered her room during the nighttime rounds and assisted her roommate.
During this time, the victim said he got on top of her and simulated having sex with her.
The victim stated the defendant was fully clothed while he conducted this act.
She stated she told the defendant to stop, but he would not.
According to police, surveillance video shows the defendant conducting his rounds in the overnight hours outside of the victim’s room.
The defendant was observed entering the victim’s room and exiting shortly after.
Police said The Grace Barker Nursing Home conducts cognitive tests quarterly on their residents. The victim scored very highly on the test, and had been questioned about the incident multiple times.
Her story did remain consistent.
Meza’s employment was suspended while an investigation was conducted.
After the investigation was reviewed/case by the Attorney General Office an arrest warrant was issued.
His bond is currently set at $10,000, and his next court date on October 25.
