Case of West Nile virus confirmed in Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Health has confirmed a case of West Nile Virus in Dartmouth.
The town reported that the Department of Public Health had confirmed that a mosquito from a collection in the Northeast section of town tested positive.
The location of the collection does not diminish the likelihood of the presence of mosquitoes carrying the the virus elsewhere in town, according to DOH.
Officials are advising residents too apply repellant and avoid going outside during the peak mosquito hours.
