Girl Scouts ‘Cookie Share’ donates cookies, proceeds to local organizations

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) has donated 42,000 packages of Girl Scout Cookies to local organizations in 2024 through their project Cookie Share.
This annual program sees customers purchase Girl Scout Cookies and donate them to a food banks, shelters, military and hospitals.
Partner organizations include Rhode Island Food Bank, Women & Infants Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Welcome House of South County, Miriam Hospital, Comprehensive Community Action Program (CCAP) and the Jonnycake Center.
GSSNE has also selected Wildlife Clinic of Rhode Island as their 2024 recipient of their annual Cookie Program Community Service Project.
Local Girl Scout troops have donated $2,132 to the organization, which cares for injured and orphaned wildlife in Rhode Island.
