Taunton man arrested for fentanyl trafficking during traffic stop

RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said a Taunton man was arrested for fentanyl trafficking during a traffic stop for using his cell phone while driving.
Police said 24-year-old Joshua Bordes was pulled over in Raynham, Mass. on July 10 after an officer spotted Bordes using his phone while driving.
After being pulled over Police said Bordes did not have a valid license or registration for the vehicle.
Police said during an electronic check on Bordes the officer discovered that Bordes’ license was suspended and he had two active warrants.
The officer arrested Bordes and his vehicle was swept by a drug-sniffing dog which was able to identify four bags of fentanyl containing approximately 40 grams.
Authorities said Bordes was arraigned in Taunton District Court for his active warrants, along with trafficking fentanyl, operating a vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle while holding an electronic device.
