Stop and Shop delis reopen after cleaning due to recalled meat

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A spokesperson for Stop and Shop said delis at all locations have reopened after they were cleaned due to recalled Boar’s Head meats.

The company said the equipment was “deep cleaned” and the impacted meats were disposed of.

The recall was targeted at liverwurst products that may be affected by Listeria monocytogenes, as well as bacon, bologna, ham, and salami products which were produced on the same line as the liverwurst.

“Ensuring the safety of the products we sell is our highest priority, and our deli associates are ready to serve our communities,” the company said.

Stop and Shop said that anyone who purchased a contaminated product should dispose of it and either visit their local store or call 1-800-767-7772 for a full refund.
