MassDOT worker killed after being hit in West Bridgewater

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz said that a Massachusetts Department of Transportation worker was killed after being hit on July 27.
The worker was identified at 57-year-old David Sousa of Stoughton, who was picking up debris from the road on Route 24 around 9:30 p.m. when he was struck.
@MassStatePolice continue to investigate after a fatal crash on Route 24 in W. Bridgewater killed a MassDOT worker. It happened at 9:30 p.m. last night when a MassDOT worker was struck by a motorist while picking up debris in the roadway in the area of Exit 28B on Route 24 north.

Cruz added that the driver remained on scene and the crash closed the northbound lanes of the road for three hours.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
