New suspension order issued to Vineyard Wind during on-going investigation

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) announced a new suspension order for Vineyard Wind on Friday.
The BSEE issued the order to clarify what must be done to lift the suspension.
This order comes after the turbine generator blade failure that led to debris going into the water off the coast of Nantucket on July 13.
Currently, the company is restricted from generating electricity from any facility. As well as being prohibited from building any additional wind turbine generator towers, nacelles, or blades.
The order requires the company to submit an analysis of risk and mitigation plan to the BSEE before any worker can board any facility.
The company is not restricted from activities not stated in the order.
The BSEE said they are conducting an investigation into the cause of the incident and what led to it.
