Metallica returns to Gillette Stadium for the first time since 2017 on Friday

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Metallica will return to Gillette Stadium for the first time in seven years for two shows.
The band which played the second-ever concert in stadium history, is scheduled to perform two shows: on Friday, Aug. 2, and Sunday, Aug. 4.
It will be a “No repeat Weekend” with both shows having two completely different set lists and bands opening for them.
On Friday, Pantera and Mammoth WVH will be opening, while Sunday’s show will have Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills.
Both shows will start at 6 p.m. with parking lots opening at 2 p.m. and gates opening at 4 p.m.
Gillette Stadium officials advise those coming for the shows to plan accordingly for travel, as heavy traffic is expected.
Upcoming concerts in the Gillette Stadium Concert Series are PINK on Aug. 21 and Kenny Chesney with three shows between Aug.23-25.
