49 Guinea Pigs found abandoned in Dracut

DRACUT, Mass. (WLNE) — Dracut Police said they are looking for who abandoned 49 guinea pigs near Beaver Brook on Monday.
Dracut Animal Control was notified that someone had found several guinea pigs on a trail between the Beaver Brook and the Beaver Brook Mill.
Police said when animal control arrived, officers found 49 guinea pigs, who all appeared lethargic and not in good shape.
The guinea pigs were taken to the Lowell Humane Society and are still there today. The guinea pigs are not yet available for adoption due to their poor condition.
Dracut Police said they are investigating the situation and are asking for public assistance. Anyone with information is asked to call 978-957-2123.
