Gov. Dan McKee to sign solar protections legislation

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — This morning, Governor Dan McKee will sign a bill that will grant consumer-protection for better regulation of solar energy sales.

Joined by bill sponsors House Deputy Majority Whip, Representative Mia Ackerman, and Senator Jacob Bissaillon, the legislation will grant the Department of Regulation authority and resources to investigate complaints, impose penalties, and revoke registrations when necessary.

The bill will be signed at 10:30 a.m. at the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation on Pontiac Avenue.
