Woman dies after being hit by car in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said a woman died after being struck by a car that was backing out of a driveway Friday.

The incident occurred on Strathmore Road.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where they were declared dead.

Police said the incident is still under the investigation and the driver stayed on scene and is cooperating.
