Woman caught on camera defecating behind Berkley farm stand

BERKLEY, Mass. (WLNE) — A stomach-churning act caught on camera in Berkley on Wednesday.

A woman was seen getting out of a car on South Main Street and defecating behind a local farm stand.

“I logged on [to] my camera and saw a lady walk toward my gate,” Dallas Brightman said. “Saw her squat out back and she started going to the bathroom.”

Brightman, the owner of Hill and Hollow Farm Stand, said he was disturbed by the incident.

“I mean, it’s a farm stand,” Brightman said. “There’s traffic here, people buying vegetables, nobody wants to see that.”

Brightman added that, while this instance was particularly egregious, the act isn’t unheard of in the area.

“I’ve had other people complain that people pull over and just go to the bathroom right in their front yard and not even care what they’re doing,” he said.

The clean-up process only added to the issue.

“I don’t wanna go touch that,” Brightman said. “Who wants to go touch that? What am I supposed to, hire someone to clean someone else’s feces out the back of the farm stand? That’s disgusting.”

He added that there are much better alternatives for those who need to “go.”

“Just ask us, there’s woods everywhere,” Brightman said. “If you gotta go to the bathroom, you gotta go to the bathroom. There’s a Dunkin’ Donuts at every corner in Massachusetts.”

The Berkley Police Department said it identified the individual and charged them.

Officials thanked the public for its help in the case, but asked that people refrain from sharing potentially criminal videos on social media before contacting police in the future.

Police did not identify the person arrested.
