Police investigating shooting on Providence street

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police were investigating a shooting on General Street Friday night.

Police said they received a call around 7:22 p.m. for a male shot in the lower back.

The male was “uncooperative” but was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

The shooting occurred in a housing complex and no arrests have been made yet.

ABC 6 News crews on scene saw police block the road using police tape and emergency vehicles.
