Coggeshall Farm hosts Bristol Expedition Weekend

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — Coggeshall Farm Museum hosted the Bristol Expedition 1778 reenactments on Aug. 17 and Aug. 18.

The weekend featured members of the Capt. Tew’s Company and other reenactors demonstrating what life was like during the British occupation of Rhode Island during the Revolutionary War.

“We’re so excited to have everyone on the farm today,” Museum Executive Director Shelli Costa said. “We have the two sides come to the farm and demonstrate what it would have been like actually in Rhode Island at that time period.”

The living history program included tactical demonstrations, lectures, a fashion show, artillery demonstrations, and examples of domestic life.
