4 injured during construction accident in Bristol

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — Four construction workers are in the hospital this morning after officials said they fell while trying to raise roof rafters.

It happened yesterday evening at the site of a new home construction off of Clam Shell Road.

According to the Bristol Fire Chief, workers were attempting to raise a section of roof rafters when it fell over causing all four of them to fall to the ground.

The four individuals were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where the exact extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.

Bristol Police and the town Building Official are investigating the incident further.
