Officials respond to incident at housing complex in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A juvenile is in custody after New Bedford Police said they responded to a housing development in response to a report of shots fired.
According to officials, the report came in around 2 a.m. from the “Satellite Village” housing development on Apollo Drive.
When officers got to the scene, it was determined that the suspect lived nearby and would not respond to investigating officers.
Given the nature of the situation, the SEMLEC (South Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council) team was activated and made their way to the scene.
At around 7:30 a.m., the suspect exited the residence peacefully and was taken into custody.
