UPDATE: Police investigate early morning New Bedford homicide

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police and New Bedford police are investigating a homicide that occurred in New Bedford early Tuesday morning, according to the Bristol County DA’s office.

New Bedford police received a 911 at approximately 3:40 a.m. Tuesday reporting a male with an injury at the 41 Rockdale Avenue Seabra Foods store.

Responding personnel located a victim suffering from an apparent head injury, and the victim was pronounced dead by New Bedford EMS at 3:56 a.m.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
