ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) —  The Attleboro Police Department said they’re looking to identify a male suspect that was involved in an assault and battery.

According to police, the suspect crashed his unregistered motorcycle into another vehicle just over the line in North Attleboro on August 12.

Officials said the motorist followed the motorcycle on Lindsey St. into Attleboro, at which point the motorcycle stopped on Cedar Creek Drive.

Police said the suspect then physically assaulted the motorist, allegedly punching the victim and striking the victim with a motorcycle helmet.

The suspect was then separated from the victim by several bystanders and attempted to flee on the motorcycle.

However, he was prevented by doing so by the bystanders, and he fled foot into the woods nearby after hearing that the police were being called.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 20 to 30 years of age, wearing blue jeans, black and gray gloves, black shirt, dark-colored wavy hair, and carrying a red motorcycle helmet.

The motorcycle abandoned on scene by the suspect is an unregistered black and green Kawasaki KLX400.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Attleboro Police Department at 508-222-1212.
