New Bedford man arrested on firearm charges

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford police have arrested a local man on firearm charges.
21-year-old Andres Cosme-Mateo has been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license, two counts of possession of a large-capacity feeding device, and improper storage of a gun.
According to police, officers were conducting an investigation that led them to a Front Street address.
When officers encountered he suspect, he was found to be in possession of a 38-caliber revolver, 39 rounds of 9mm ammo, and one 10-round high-capacity magazine.
Officers also located a bag containing a high-capacity magazine and 12 rounds of 9mm ammo.
Cosme-Mateo allegedly has no license to possess the firearm or the ammunition.
