Miss Boston’s Teen visits New Bedford police, fundraises for American Heart Association

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Miss Boston’s Teen 2024 Na’Shajia Monteiro, a New Bedford native, visited the city’s police department as she raised money for the American Heart Association.

Assistant Deputy Chief Scott Carola donated his portrait of David Ortiz to be raffled off for the fundraiser.

Carola said the American Heart Association’s mission is important to him as he had undergone surgical repair of an aortic aneurysm.
