NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A man suspected in a New Bedford armed robbery murder has now also been implicated in a carjacking in the city, according to New Bedford police.

Anthony Jalo, 21, was initially arrested for the August 4 murder of Aaron Britto, who was shot and killed during a robbery.

Police have since linked Jalo to a New Bedford carjacking incident that occurred on August 14.

The incident occurred at the Boa Vista Tower parking lot at approximately 9:30 p.m. where the two victims had been sitting in the vehicle.

They were approached by two masked males with firearms and were ordered out of the car and to leave their belongings inside.

The suspects then entered the vehicle and fled the scene north on S. Second Street.

The identity of the second suspect is still under investigation and Jalo is in the custody of the Bristol County Sheriff’s office, held without bail.
