Body of missing Massachusetts man believed found in South Carolina

HILTON HEAD, SC (WLNE) — South Carolina police believe they have recovered the body of the Massachusetts man who went missing more than a week ago on Hilton Head island.

Stanley Kotowski was reported missing by his family on August 16th after suffering with mental health issues.

His family confirmed Kotowski was found just a few houses down from their rental unit underneath the home.

A coroner will conduct an autopsy Tuesday to determine the cause of death which is believed to be asphyxiation and positively identify the body.
