Man accused of assault of 80-year-old woman to face other charges

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A man accused of kidnaping an 80-year-old woman and assaulting her will face his other charges today.
Back on August 16, Steven Henning was charged with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon in a dwelling, first degree robbery, assault on a person over 60-serious bodily injury and burglary and larceny of a motor vehicle.
It is alleged that Henning stole his girlfriend’s vehicle from Ohio after assaulting her, drove it to Woonsocket, stole another car in Burrillville, and then assaulted an 80-year-old woman and left her in a wooded area in Smithfield.
He also engaged police in a pursuit which led to his arrest.
Today, Henning will be arraigned for the charges he faces out of Woonsocket for possession of a stolen vehicle.
He still has to face a judge for charges out of Burrillville.
