Providence pawn shop owner charged with allegedly buying stolen Tiffany rings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) —  Attorney General Peter F. Neronha said the owner of Four C’s Pawn Shop in Providence was charged with buying 108 stolen gold rings.

58-year-old Mohamed Bahra, of Lincoln, was charged with one count of knowingly receiving 26.3 ounces of stolen 18 karat gold, one count of failing to require proof of identification for sellers of precious metals, and one count of failure to keep proper sales records.

Bahra allegedly bought the 18-karat rings, which were valued at $378,000, from a UPS employee who stole them from a shipping center in Warwick in 2023.

The rings were then weighed and examined at Glines and Rhodes in Attleboro, who contacted Tiffany and Co.

The rings were originally meant to be delivered to a Providence jewelry store.

Neronha said that both Bahra and the UPS employee told police that the rings were sold to the pawn shop for $12,384.

He is scheduled for pre-arraignment on  Nov. 27.
