7-year-old shot in Providence, in critical condition
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said a 7-year-old was shot Thursday evening.
Providence Police Commander Timothy O’Hara said a girl was in critical condition after she was shot in the back seat of a car on Florence Street.
The victim was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
Officials said three people were in the car at the time of the shooting, which took place right near Joslin Park & Playground.
Police said no suspects had been identified and no arrests had been made as of Thursday night.
ABC 6 News crews on-scene saw multiple police vehicles and police tape blocking part of the road.
