UPDATE: Charges upgraded to murder in New Bedford homicide

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Charges have been upgraded for a Mattapoisett woman in the homicide of a New Bedford man outside of a grocery store, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
Nina Busnengo, 31, has now been charged with murder in the August 20 homicide of Stephen Oswald, having previously been charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.
Busnengo was ordered held without bail.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. on August 20 when New Bedford police responded to Seabra Foods at 41 Rockdale Avenue for reports of a male with a head injury.
Oswald was pronounced deceased at the scene by New Bedford EMS medics at 3:56 a.m.
