More dry than not this Labor Day Weekend

We started off Friday on a chilly note, with wake-up temperatures in the low 50s and even upper 40s!

High pressure situated up over Maine has kept our skies clear and our winds light, which made for good radiational cooling.

With that high departing and a cold front slowly tracking towards us, there will be a slightly warmer and more muggy feel Saturday into Sunday.

First, expect a fairly overcast start on Saturday, with some sun returning in the afternoon hours. Highs will increase to the mid/upper 70s.

Rain chances will then increase overnight and wet weather is possible into Sunday; right now, a bit more likely in the morning than the afternoon.

Any embedded thunderstorms have very slight chance of producing some gusty winds in addition to a quick downpour.

We then see improvements later in the day and setting Labor Day up to be superb – mostly sunny and less humid, with highs in the upper 70s.

The cool and very dry air will remain for most of the workweek, with abundant sunshine as well!
