East Bridgewater Police help corral loose cow

EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — The East Bridgewater Police Department said that officers were able to “safely corral” a loose female cow Wednesday morning.
The department said an officer was driving through the area of Belmont Street and Summer Street when he “saw a woman on a horse chasing after a loose cow.”
The woman had previously called the department about the cow, named Boots, had escaped from her farm on Summer Street.
Deputy Chief Mike McLaughlin, Sgt. John Smith and Officers Joshua DeJesus, Matthew Monteiro and Patrick O’Brien all assisted to corral Boots toward the back of Beaver Cemetery using a rope lasso and food, and get her onto a trailer back to the far.
The department added that some lawns also suffered minor damage, and minor traffic delays on Belmont Street and Summer Street occurred when the cow got too close to the road.
