PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Services for the 7-year-old girl girl killed in a shooting last month in Providence have been announced.

Ny’Eil Pires was shot when she was sitting in the back seat of her family’s car on Florence Street.

Pires was rushed to the hospital where she remained in critical condition for three days, ultimately succumbing to her injuries.

Two men, 19-year-old Ahmari Cabrera of Providence and 26-year-old Shaheem Nathaniel of Cranston, were charged with her murder.

“Ny’Eil’s favorite thing to do was to make funny videos with her brothers and parents. She also enjoyed dancing, laughing and playing with her family and friends.  What made her happiest was being a big sister to her brothers. They were her best friends,” the obituary states.

The obituary further states:

“Even though she was a young girl she was very strong and a natural born fighter through all the obstacles in her short life. Ny’Eil brought a tremendous amount of love joy and happiness to the family who is devastated by her premature passing but are rejoicing she departed to heaven to be with our beloved Lord. The family gets comfort from knowing she is resting in perfect peace.”
