Pawtucket breaks ground on new transit hub

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials broke ground on a new building in Pawtucket set to make life easier for transit riders, and grow the community here in the city of Pawtucket.

Monday’s event is part two of a multi-year project, and comes with a $5 million price tag.

The new site is also important to build trust and ease with using RIPTA.

The project is expected to be a quick one, possibly opening within the year.

The transit hub will remain open during the work, which is expected to start soon.
