Rhode Island man arrested for alleged solicitation of a minor

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) — A Rhode Island man has been arrested on three charges for alleged solicitation of a minor for sexual activity.

Jacob Garzarelli, 32, of Coventry, Rhode Island, was charged for the alleged indecent solicitation of a minor, electronically disseminating indecent material to minors, and possession of child pornography.

Portsmouth Police said Garzarelli traveled from Coventry to Portsmouth to engage in sexual activity with a juvenile female.

Garzarelli was located by police inside a business on East Main Road in Portsmouth, and taken into custody.

Detectives located a USB drive, a tablet, and other forms of evidence inside his vehicle, police said.

Garzarelli will be arraigned on three charges at the 2nd Division District Court.
