PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Activists in Rhode Island are coming together, raising money for immigrant families separated at the border.

The Nitro Cart in Providence is selling tee-shirts and other goods donated by local artists, decorated with #NotOneMore.

All of the proceeds are going to two non-profits – RAICES and KIND – that provide legal aid for immigrants.

"We put out a post saying we were going to start the fundraiser at 7 on Saturday, and right at 7:00 we had a group of people that came in and it just kept going and going and going,” explained Nitro Cart Co-Owner Sam Lancaster.

So far, the business has raised around $3,000. The #NotOneMore merchandise is almost sold off, but The Nitro Cart will still be collecting donations.

Meanwhile, the president is amping up his hard-line stance on immigration, saying in a series of tweets that migrants should be turned away at the border without any court hearings – arguing building his border wall is the only answer. “We’re gonna have the wall,” he said at an event in Nevada over the weekend. “We’ve already started it…I don’t want judges. I want border patrol. I want ICE.”

Congressman David Cicilline (D – RI), who visited some of the detention facilities in Texas, says that’s the wrong way to go: "This is a very, very dangerous message to say we shouldn’t have courts, we shouldn’t have laws, we should just do what we want. That’s not what this country is."
