Former pediatrician charged for allegedly sexually assaulting nursing home resident
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said a Pawtucket man was indicted in connection with a sexual assault in May 2024.
73-year-old Anthony Alario was charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree sexual assault.
The incident occurred at Tockwotton Assisted Living Facility in East Providence, where Alario allegedly sexually assaulted an older female patient in the memory care unit.
The facility said that Alario was visiting the patient, and that staff alerted police and received a no trespassing order against the suspect.
It added that Alario was not affiliated professionally.
Neronha added that, following the alleged assault and investigation, the defendant relinquished his medical license.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 2.
