Providence murder suspect held without bail

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The suspect in Providence’s 10th homicide in 2024 was held without bail Thursday.

41-year-old Michael Shaw was charged with murder after 57-year-old Michael Ames was found dead inside of a multi-family home on Westminster Street on Sept. 25.

Shaw did not enter a plea and he is due back in court sometime next week.
