Disaster responders from Mass. help those affected by Helene in North Carolina

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLNE) — Disaster responders in Massachusetts were deployed to help those affected by Hurricane Helene.

The Massachusetts Task Force 1 were deployed to North Carolina to help residents in water rescues.

A total of 102 people were killed in the storm, according to our affiliate WCVB.

First responders and members of the Red Cross are still being sent down to Florida to help those effected by the storm.
