Fall River mayor to swear in interim police chief

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River mayor is expected to swear in a new interim chief today.

Captain Kelly Furtado will lead the Fall River Police Department, after the announcement that Chief Paul Gauvin would step down from the position.

Furtado is currently the Special Operations Division Commander.

The press conference will happen at 1 p.m. at the city offices.
