ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will host a tour to celebrate the beginning of free parking at the South Attleboro Commuter Rail Station.

Free parking will be available until April.

According to a release, the six-month initiative is designed to encourage more ridership on the MBTA Commuter Rail.

Normally, parking at South Attleboro Station costs $6 per day.

The MBTA reopened South Attleboro Station on May 20, after a three-year closure needed during an improvement project.
