PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee will join HousingWorks RI ahead of their release of this year’s housing fact book.

The report highlights affordability challenges residents face.

The latest report states a household earning a median income of $107,000 can’t afford to buy a home anywhere in the Ocean State.

Home prices in ten municipalities have increased by 50 percent or more, this includes Bristol, Central Falls, Hopkinton, Middletown, Narragansett, Newport, Pawtucket, Portsmouth, Providence and Middletown.

For renters, an average two bedroom apartment costs more than $2,100, which would require an income of more than $84,000 to afford it.

The annual fact book is presented by HousingWorks RI and Roger Williams University.

McKee will deliver remarks at the release at 9:30 a.m. at the Marriott Hotel on Orms Street.
