Taunton mayor in court over domestic assault case

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Taunton Mayor Shauna O’Connell attended a hearing Friday for a domestic violence case that began in July.

O’Connell was accused of biting and hitting her husband during an argument.

A judge denied a request from the mayor’s legal team to dismiss assault charges against O’Connell, as they said the couple have since “made up.”

The jury trial is set to begin in December.
