U.S. Marshals arrest fugitive with child porn charges after searching for months

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A fugitive was arrested in the woods by U.S. Marshals in Connecticut on Monday after being wanted on multiple child porn charges.

40-year-old Steven Labrecque was taken into custody at a remote campsite in Woodstock, Conn. where he allegedly has been hiding for months.

The suspect was originally wanted in Massachusetts by both Franklin and New Bedford police, who requested assistance after unsuccessful attempts to locate the defendant.

Labrecque was arrested on charges of child pornography, photographing intimate parts of a child, intimidation of a witness, reckless endangerment of a child, threatening, obscene matter to a minor, assault, and battery.

Following his arrest, the defendant was transported to Connecticut State Police where he was processed as a fugitive from justice.

Labrecque awaits to be deported back to Massachusetts to face the charges.
